Maple Fest 2011

MapleFest is nearly here! On March 19th & 20th, come join us for some good times, good eats, and good people! Bring your family and your appetite! This years’ events include:

Saturday, March 19th:

  • Maple Pancake Breakfast – Sponsored by the PDRC, the breakfast will be held at the Methodist Church from 8-10
  • Maple Fest 5 K Run – Meet at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church Center; 9:30 Registration, 10:00 Run!
  • Horace Greeley Sightings – Horace Greeley will be about town all day!
  • Interactive Family Games & Crafts – Sponsored by the Environmental Ed Class, this event will be hosted at Green Mountain College from 10-11
  • 4th Annual Maple Bake Off Contest – Held at the St. Raphael’s Catholic Church Center; drop off at 10am, judging at 2pm!
  • Bag Sale – at the Orginial Vermont Store, Stitchy Women, and William’s Hardware, from 10-3!
  • Poultney Theater Group and Tiny Theater – Activities (TBA)
  • Scavenger Hunt – TBA
  • Silent Auction – Held at St. Raphael’s Catholic Church Center, from 10-2
  • Horse Drawn Wagon Rides – Sponsored by the PDRC and PACC, rides start at the entrance to the Stonebridge and run from 11-2!
  • Open Gallery – Poultney Artists Guild at the Stonebridge, 11-2
  • Soup & Sandwich Lunch – St. Raphael’s Catholic Church Center, 11-2
  • Maple Story Time – Poultney Public Library, 1pm
  • Family Nature Walk – Meet at the Stonebridge, 2:30pm!
  • Family Supper – American Legion Hall, 5-7 (tentative)
  • Local Sugar House Tours: 10 AM – 4 PM

Sunday, March 20th:

  • Local Sugar House Tours: 10 AM – 4 PM

Spotlight on Poultney - Now and Then

SPOTLIGHT ON POULTNEY CELEBRATING 250 YEARS and
THE LAKES REGION
NOW AND THEN”

On Saturday, February 26th  the Poultney Area Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting “A Spotlight on Poultney and the Lakes Region, Now and Then” and also featuring Horace Greeley celebrating 200 years at St Raphael’s Hall on East Main Street - Poultney. Doors will open at and end at . There are 50 spaces available and are on a first come first serve basis. We are opening it up to all Chamber Members first. Deadline for Chamber Members is February 9 and at that point, we will then open it up to the community and other surrounding towns. The spaces are 10’ and are $25 each. You will need to bring your own tables and chairs.
